Tak mau ambil resiko dan membiarkan kontroversi berlarut-larut, Fabio Capello memutuskan untuk mencopot John Terry sebagai kapten timnas Inggris akibat skandal yang melibatkan mantan kekasih Wayne Bridge.
Sebagai penunjuk, Capello mengangkat wakil kapten Rio Ferdinand untuk memimpin pasukan The Three Lions saat Piala Dunia 2010 menanti.
Apakah ini pilihan yang tepat?
Beberapa pendapat pro mengatakan:
- Karir Ferdinand terus menjulang bersama Manchester United. Empat gelar Liga Primer Inggris dan satu gelar di Liga Champions dicicipinya bersama United. Berkat itu pula, Ferdinand tampil tiga kali beruntun dalam Team of the Year.
Ferdinand tampil baik, meski Inggris kalah 1-0.
Tak kurang pula pendapat kontra yang mengatakan:
- Tampil 40 partai semusim membuat Ferdinand kerap didera cedera.

Predicting The Six Nations
In an effort to cash in on the Rugby movie Invictus, the BBC have recruited Morgan Freeman for promotion of their Six Nations coverage. You can watch the video here. It consists of Freeman reading from the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley, while images of rugby are woven throughout. It’s an inspiring ad, but what most struck me was the imagery the BBC were using to predict the end result.
- A Welsh Dragon
- A French Cockerel (or rooster)
- An English Knight
- A Italian statue of a Roman warrior
- A Scottish Lion Rampant
- A Field of Irish Shamrocks
or, to put this another way:
- the French are chickens
- the Italians are standing still
- the Welsh will be put to the sword by St. George
- and the Irish were bloody lucky to win last year
That leaves England and Scotland standing alone on top. That is, of course, until they set the lion on fire! Pro-English much, BBC?

Specifications
The New Play Control! range returns with a special update of the GameCube’s hit tennis game. Starring the whole of the Mushroom Kingdom pantheon, there’s much more to this sports sim than it first appears.
Not only can you play as Bowser but you can also pick-up Mario Kart style items
Mario uses his power shot to bring on a rather unorthodox piece of tennis equipment
It may not look like it, but at heart this is a surprisingly deep sports sim
Boss battles aren’t a normal part of most tennis games, but they are in this one!At the heart of the game though is a traditional tennis sim with controls that have just that little bit more depth than Wii Sports, for a slightly more realistic feel. To start with though all you do is use the remote to hit the ball and, if you want, the Nunchuk’s analogue stick to move around the court.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to other options though, with everything from the crazy power shots to special gimmick courts filled with obstacles and situations from previous Mario games. With 18 different characters to choose from and an excellent four-player mode this is one of the Wii’s best new/old sports games.
Key Features
- Ace shot: Each character has its own unique power shots for both attack and defence, from wielding a mallet to hit the ball to using an extending arm to return an incoming ball.
- Mario sports: Special game modes including Ring Shot where you score extra points by hitting the ball through hoops or Item Battle where you use Mario Kart style power-ups.
- Wimbledon uncommon: Optional gimmick courts bring bizarre obstacles and rules to the game as you play in haunted houses and gunge filled courts.
- Games within games: Huge selection of mini-games to test your skills, from painting a mural on a wall to playing noughts and crosses for hidden Star Shines.
- Celebrity sports: Play as everyone from Mario and Bowser to Donkey Kong and Waluigi — each with their own unique abilities and different styles of play.

That’s gotta be a victory
Heidi over at Hortus Deliciarum wrote a great post called Intuitive eating vs. “calorie restriction” or dieting . As i was posting, i realized my reply had outgrown the “comments” realm and was morphing into its own blog post. please check her post out as it is obviously thought provoking.
“Sometimes I need to swim back to my safety-log of overeating to make it through a day, because I’m not yet ready to swim all the way to the shore of recovery, but I never, ever calorie restrict. That way lies madness.”
so very powerful and true. It amazing….now that I honestly DONT CARE what I eat…I end up bringing home food from resturants……hell I even order less because I didn’t starve myself all day…like today…at panera bread (it will always be St.Louis Bread Co to me) I USED to order a take 2 with a breadbowl, making myself eat their yummy salads….but yesterday all I craved was veggies, and today all I wanted was bread and meat….so I had french onion soup in a bread bowl and it was ALL I wanted…..it was PERFECT and I was satisfied until 9p, when I ate with my man when he got off work on our date night. I am eating LESS when I am not forcing myself to eat “right” because what I crave is “right” for my body.
…and I don’t feel like I have to “force” myself to eat in the mornings anymore (I have asthma and use birth control… so I get REALLY sick to my stomach in the morning.) I always felt like I had to choke down breakfast, and then if I couldn’t I wouldn’t let myself eat till like 2 as “punishment” for not follow the right diet to “amp” my metabolism. But now that I have given up on that notion and eat when my body says I tend to eat 2 meals with a light snack later….and no starving, no hiding food and scarfing it. I enjoy it more….hell I cant even eat fast food anymore, it turns my stomach and I don’t crave it (i turned down fries tonight in favor of horseradish cole slaw) ….but boy has my wok enjoyed itself since i got it for christmas!
Hell this whole happy movement thing too is amazing….my body LOVES me now! My back needs the yoga daily to feel better….and I feel stronger without feeling so sore I cant walk up a stair. I don’t shake now when I do downward-facing dog or warrior poses! And I can hold them for longer! and I havent given up or gotten bored (gogo ADHD). It feels like all the baby steps with my relationships with food, exercise and self-esteem are starting to right themselves.
In fact I passed something of a “test” for myself personally. My first trigger for bulimia…the big one that started it all… was homemade lemon bars…..I made (and then ate) a whole pan…and freaked out. (cue a binge/purge cycle that lasted, oh the rest of my life) Well, I made some with my kids…and there are still 3 left, and its been 2 days…in fact I think I have to throw them away, because they are stale….WFT! I let sweets…CAKES for crissake!…go STALE! I dont care if I am losing weight, or gaining….I DO care that my relationship with food, for the first time since I was 10, is starting to feel normal, and right. I dont have to count everything to be able to eat it. I AM trying to eat veggies, not because I HAVE to but because I CRAVE them.
That’s gotta be a victory.

First Week of Stacking
My first week of stacking is complete & I have to say I feel stronger. Every body part is sore & it feels real good because I’ve felt a pump every single day. My triceps feel tighter and my biceps feel fuller. My chest feels solid and my shoulders feel massive. My legs feel bigger than Trey Brewer’s & my abs feel more defined.
N.O.-Xplode gives me this tingly sensation on my hands, feet, and ears. It’s a feeling that kind makes me unstable. Nonetheless, this product pushes me to do more reps and weight. Lovin’ it!
Volumaize isn’t the best tasting supplement but it gets the job done. At first, I thought it wasn’t working but within minutes I felt the volume increasing in my muscles. It was incredible to see myself in the mirror with added volume to my arms, chest, etc. The only issue I have with Volumaize is drinking the required 20oz. I’ll be lucky if I’m able to finish 10oz. during my workout.
Cellmass. I love the name. I’m always looking forward to my post-workout supplement. As soon as I’m done with my thirty-minute cardio session, I take one scoop of Cellmass with 5oz. of water and enjoy. Cellmass has a candy-like taste which makes it even more satisfying to consume. I will admit I was a bit scared when I took it on the Monday because it made my triceps split. What I mean is that I could feel and see a gap in between my triceps. I was a little scared. I was telling this other guy who also takes Cellmass about my side effect & he said he experienced the same thing. My other friend (Juan, wrestling buddy) said it was a muscle cramp. Other than that, Cellmass makes me feel solid.
True-Mass is serious. This lean mass gainer has a whooping 630 calories in three scoops. I’ve been taking True-Mass as a post-workout supplement (30 minutes after Cellmass). I originally planned on taking True-Mass for breakfast in the morning but I did some research & concluded that True-Mass would better serve me as a post-workout supplement. The reason? All the healthy fats, carbohydrates, & proteins are utilized better after a brutal workout to repair damaged muscles. After I take three scoops of True-Mass, I feel full. As if I just ate a huge meal. So far, True-Mass is impressive.
Syntha-6 is a must-have. You can’t be on BSN without Syntha-6. This product got me started on BSN. Let’s get to the business. I got the 5lb. bottle of chocolate peanut butter and it’s delicious. I take one scoop every morning before Rangerville. This shake has bits of chocolate or maybe it’s peanut butter…I don’t know but it’s mouthwatering. I’m trying to take one scoop right before bed but it’s hard because I feel really full from the True-Mass. I was only able to take it once before bed and that was Wednesday (leg day). Let’s hope I’m able to take this right before bedtime.

Sam Bradford Future Seahawks Profile*
*Note, these profiles are on draft prospects and not yet official ‘future Seahawks’.
Image from Sports Illustrated
Junior quarterback out of Oklahoma, Sam Bradford. 6′4″ 223 lbs. Putnam City North High School, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Bradford was a diamond in the rough coming out of high school. He was rated by most sources as a 3-star prospect and in pro-style offenses as high as 12th from Rivals.com and 17th quarterback overall from CollegeFootballNews.com. In high school he was the second team all-state pick by The Oklahoman and named the 6th best player in the state.
His first year in college (2006) he was designated as a redshirt and in 2007 became the starting quarterback as a red-shirt sophomore. That year he threw for 3,121 yards with a completion rating of 69.5%. He also totaled 36 touchdowns and only throwing an outstanding 8 interceptions. He ended the season with a passer rating of 176.52!
In 2008, he had his heisman award winning year in which he threw for 4,720 and 50 touchdowns, once again only allowing 8 interceptions. He had another amazing passer rating of 180.84!
He decided to forgo the NFL draft, where many projected him as the number 1 overall pick, and return to school. While many debate that decision due to his 2009 season turning into a bust because of injury in the first game of the season. (He suffered a 3rd degree AC joint sprain. He was in and out of injury and eventually decided to get season ending surgery to get ready to play in the NFL.
Strengths: He doesn’t turn the ball over, he protects it against interceptions and fumbles. He is smart and has a great sense of accuracy. He plays in a pro-style offense and works best in the pocket. He would be willing to sit behind a established quarterback and learn the ropes.
Weaknesses: Durability is the main thing, he was injured twice during his last season (granted it was a re-injury). Can he hold up under even bigger and stronger and faster guys colliding with him?
If the Seahawks are serious about looking into a quarterback of the future and he is still around at 6, this might be a very likely pick.
Projection: Top 10 draft pick. 1st quarterback off the board.

Twisted Exercise
Twisted Sister Meg here:
Like a lot of people one of my New Year’s resolutions was to exercise more. I’ve tried to make some kind of effort every day although I fall short many days. I’ve decided that feeding in the muddy slop only counts half no matter how long I’m out there. So I bought Wii Fit Plus (already had Wii Fit and stopped using it.)
The new exercises are fun but the wasted time when switching activities make me a bit irate. Even if I dance around while waiting, I am feeling as if I’m not keeping my heart rate up. I play the activities I like, skip the harder stuff. Monday night I switched discs to Sports to try boxing.
Little did I realize how much Don would get into watching me faux box against a cartoon. Me, the vain twisted woman that I am, wanted to show off. I have no prior boxing experience and was winded after the first round. ACK! Maybe this isn’t for me until I started throwing punches, knocking that stupid guy out. 99 {fist pumping here!}
Tuesday night after dinner, Don reminds me to Wii Fit, then goads me into boxing again. I got better and so did my opponents! Every night I’ve been boxing, tonight twice for 6 rounds with bowling, tennis and golf in between. I got so into the last round that sweat began pouring. My legs, abs, arms were so heavy and my bosoms were heaving!
After a get this published, I will grab a glass of fine Merlot and head for the hot tub. Ahhhhh, yes, exercise is good.

Seven Top Reasons to Have a Morning Practice of Yoga and Meditation

1. Your health is your most important asset. You should dedicate at least 1/10 of your day to your physical, mental and spiritual well being.
2. Having a solid spiritual practice is the key to surviving challenging times and there’s little doubt we live in challenging times.
3. Starting your day with mantra and meditation brings clarity and purpose to the other important goals of your life. Sadhana (or spiritual practice) is an anchor for the rest of the day. Beginning the day on a high note sets the tone for the rest of the day.
4. Sadhana is the time you develop your relationship to your Self. Maintaining a healthy relationship with your Self, is the key to strengthening your relationships with others. It’s your light that others feel. Turn it on.
5. The early morning hours have less electrical and mental activity in the air, allowing the mind to focus better and deep awareness to be obtained.
6. Your subconscious mind absorbs so much unconscious information. Conscious relaxation of the mind through yoga, meditative chanting, and deep meditative silence provides the best avenue to consciously enlighten yourself.
7. Great things come with depth. All masters have transcended through the depth of their practice be it in music, business, sports, science, spirituality or Love. The cure for bitterness and disillusionment is discipline. Daily practice with discipline leads to enlightenment.
